First Baptist Child Care Center is an outreach program at First Baptist Church. By design, the Center strives to meet the needs of First Baptist Church families first and then reach out to our community. Administrative polices of the Center are guided by a committee appointed by the Church. All policies are established in the best interest of the children involved. The Center is conducted by an experienced Director and qualified staff. The central purpose of the Center is to develop good character and personal qualities within each child, while offering the best possible care for the children. The Center works for the development of character and life concerns and attitudes that will enable children to adopt a Christian approach to values and relations. The Center is Christian, but non-denominational. The center is a Type II Licensed Child Care Facility, License #436, by the Louisiana Department of Education and has been inspected by the Vernon Parish Health Unit and the Leesville Fire Department.

Children will be assigned to classrooms determined by age levels and development. Transitions from one class to another are determined b available openings, birthdates, and the individual child's readiness developmentally and socially. Major class changes are made in January and June. Some changes occur in August with the beginning of school. However, children may be moved by the director from one class to another as openings in various classes occur. The Curriculum is designed for each age group with activities appropriate for the developmental level of the individual child. The Center provides a preschool program for infants 6 weeks through three years old, Pre-k for children whose fourth birthday is before September 30 of the current school year, and after school care for Kindergarten through 12 years of age.

First Baptist Child Care Center uses Christian Curriculum in all ages of child care. WE use developmentally appropriate materials for each age group. We have a variety of resource material available to the teachers to enhance the learning process for all the children enrolled in the center.
